Unlock VEU Rebate Opportunities with
AGG WERS-Rated Windows

High performance windows & glass doors are now more than an energy upgrade – they may also unlock a clear rebate pathway for Victorian retrofit projects.

Following sustained advocacy by AGWA, high performance WERS-rated windows are now formally recognised under the Victorian Energy Upgrades (VEU) program, without the costly product assessments and verification processes previously required.

For window/glass door upgrades from single glazing to compliant double or triple glazing, this means there is now a government-backed rebate pathway attached to eligible work – helping customers save while supporting stronger commercial outcomes for suppliers, manufacturers and installers.

A New Opportunity for Victorian Retrofit Projects

For the first time, VEU incentives are aligned with verified whole-of-window performance for eligible products listed in WERS.

Through collaboration with accredited rebate provider 1st Energy Rebates, AGWA has developed a streamlined pathway for members to claim rebates on WERS-rated windows that meet the program criteria:

  • WERS Total System U-values of 4.0 or lower
  • WERS Heating star ratings of 4 stars or higher
  • Victorian Homes & Business only
  • A portion of the rebate received must go to the end-user
  • Includes 2025 calender year projects
  • 2025 back-dated claims must be in by 17th June 2026!

This opens access to tens of thousands of eligible window products and provides a simpler, more compliant way for businesses to participate in the VEU rebate program.

AGG Has Over 13,000 Eligible WERS Make-Ups

Australian Glass Group has over 13,000 individual WERS make-ups that meet the VEU rebate performance criteria, with a U-value of 4.0 or lower and a heating star rating of 4 stars or higher.

This gives AGG customers a strong product pathway to support retrofit upgrade projects across Victoria, while helping homeowners access energy-efficient glazing solutions with potential rebate support.

Why This Matters

For businesses involved in retrofit or window upgrade work, this opportunity can help:

  • Make upgrade proposals more compelling to customers
  • Support stronger margins through rebate-backed projects
  • Simplify compliance and administration
  • Position high performance glazing as a core energy upgrade, not an optional extra
  • Create additional value for customers replacing single glazed windows & doors
